Home Remodeling Showcase: 421 Hampton Ct., Athens, GA
Only one block away from campus, this home needed total home
renovation. There were previous generations of owners who
did poor work. From electrical, plumbing, and heating and air,
to a radically altered floor plan,
we remodeled this home inside and out.
Exterior
Front
Here is the view from the street. Neighbors are happy to see that we kept the "40's cottage" look of the neighborhood, instead of "McMansionizing" - building a home that dwarfs its neighbors and looks out-of-place.
Back
However, there is more to this house than meets the eye. While it may look tiny from the street, we hid enough square footage in the back to make the new home-owner happy.
Garage
We like to impact neighborhood in a positive way. This garage matches both the newly remodeled house and the style of the neighborhood. Our owner, Sean Hogan, is a former Commissioner for the Athens Area Historic Preservation Commission.
Interior
Living Room
Older floor plans often have many small rooms. Today, most homeowners prefer an open floor plan, which is better suited for parties, and entertaining guests. We removed some walls and the floor plan flows nicely now. This remodeled living room is no longer cramped and stuffy.
Kitchen
Now the kitchen feels like a kitchen-- not a hallway. You may think that your home's floor plan will never flow properly. Think again. At Hogan builders, we can think outside of the box you live in. Let us help you renovate your home, inside and out.
